Materialist Press is a small roaming press, encouraging writers and artists to produce and publish their work, to be rid of the gatekeepers.

It is an unfolding process of discovery through publication. With attention to the paper, the edition size, and the material process, we have come to focus on the careful creation of books. All things are composed of material and our words are made real through print. Information glides through our screens, but is made contemporary and complex through transformation into things in our hands. We hope to infuse content with temporality: that we may bring the reader to confront slowness.

Founded in 2015 by Ariel Resnikoff, Julia Warner, and Livingston Miller, the press currently operates out of both Cincinnati (OH) and the Bay Area (CA).
